# Winston: a native Reddit client for iPhone

Winston is lo.cafe’s native Reddit client for iOS, written in Swift and SwiftUI. Its product page brings together original screenshots and the public source-code destination.

## An interface made for iPhone

The original screenshots show Winston’s approach to reading Reddit on a phone. They preserve the application’s visual design and are a useful starting point before looking through the code.

The screenshots on locafe.app are original materials archived in November 2023. They sit alongside the project links so a reader can move from the product’s appearance to the implementation and history.

## A public Swift and SwiftUI project

The [public repository](https://locafe.app/journal/exploring-the-winston-source/) at github.com/lo-cafe-ltda/winston contains the source code, development branches, version tags and historical releases. The README identifies iOS 17 as the documented minimum requirement.

For readers interested in native iOS development, this makes Winston a concrete project to explore: a named application, an Xcode project and the source history behind the interface.

## Choose a way to explore

Start with the product page if you want to see Winston. Start with the repository README if you want to understand the codebase or its contribution path. The project is published under GPL-3.0, with its license file available in the repository.

Winston is one part of the [lo.cafe collection](https://locafe.app/journal/lo-cafe-mac-and-ios-apps/), alongside NotchNook for Mac and the historical lo-rain application. Those product pages provide the corresponding software, media and background for each app.
