Our story.
Since 2019, lo.cafe has been building apps that make everyday computing a little more useful and enjoyable.
Where it started
lo.cafe was founded in Brazil in 2019.
The early app collection
lo-rain brought animated rain to the Mac desktop, including over other apps. Winston brought a native SwiftUI experience to Reddit on iPhone.
A new use for the Mac’s notch
NotchNook brought music controls, widgets and a file tray to the top of the Mac’s screen. Its approach reached an international audience, including coverage in The Verge.

Associated companies in the United States became part of lo.cafe’s international structure. cafe lo.fi LLC and lo-fi cafe, LLC support the group’s brands and software assets alongside its Brazilian origins.
Investment and a new chapter
The company received investment in a round that included a transfer of equity interests. A shareholder dispute led to a corporate restructuring. The group is moving forward with the development and support of its apps.
NotchNook returns
NotchNook’s relaunch added timers, to-dos, battery and Bluetooth activities, and a file tray that keeps your files between restarts. Purchases through the current checkout began on September 24.
Keeping things moving
Automatic updates arrived with version 1.6.5. Development continues with improvements to NotchNook’s features and everyday experience.
