Rain as part of the desktop
The app treated the desktop as a place for atmosphere. Rain could remain visible over the work on screen, rather than being limited to a wallpaper or a video in one window.
That difference is clear in the original demonstration: the rain belongs to the desktop composition, with the Dock forming part of the scene. It gives the recording a distinctive connection to the Mac interface.
A look shaped by the settings
The original controls included rain speed, color, frame rate and angle. Fireflies added another atmospheric element. The settings recording preserved on locafe.app shows how these choices were presented.
These controls are useful details when looking at the app’s history. They show that the effect was not one fixed animation; it had a set of visual and motion choices for the way the desktop looked.
Watch the original materials
lo-rain appeared in 2023 and is part of the lo.cafe app collection. It is currently unavailable, while its product page preserves the original demonstration and settings recordings.
For a company profile or a look at lo.cafe’s earlier applications, use those recordings as the primary visual reference. They show the actual app and its interface, alongside the company’s current NotchNook and Winston pages.
