The lo.cafe app collection: Mac and iPhone

lo.cafe’s apps explore three very different parts of everyday computing: the top of a Mac screen, the atmosphere of a desktop and the experience of reading Reddit on an iPhone.

NotchNook: a useful place at the top of your Mac

NotchNook brings music, calendar, notes, to-dos, timers, a camera mirror and Shortcuts into the Nook. Its Tray gives files a nearby place while you work and supports sharing with AirDrop.

The current Mac application is available from getnotchnook.com. A 48-hour trial includes every feature, so you can test the panel with your own music, calendar and files before choosing a plan.

lo-rain: atmosphere across the desktop

The original lo-rain placed animated rain over the desktop and open windows, with splashes along the Dock. Its settings included controls for speed, color, frame rate and angle, as well as fireflies.

lo-rain is currently unavailable. Its page on locafe.app preserves original demonstrations and settings recordings, which are the best way to see the app’s original appearance and behavior.

Winston: a native Reddit client for iPhone

Winston was written in Swift and SwiftUI for iOS. Original screenshots show its approach to Reddit browsing, while the public repository preserves the application’s source code and project history.

The collection therefore has three different starting points: try NotchNook, watch lo-rain’s original recordings, or explore Winston’s code. Choose the product page that matches the experience you want to see.
