Match access to the feature
Calendar access supports the calendar view. Camera access supports the Mirror. Bluetooth is used to show connected devices, and Automation supports music control.
Accessibility is used for the volume and brightness display and to detect full-screen applications. Each permission belongs to a specific capability rather than being a general instruction to grant every prompt you see.
- Calendar → the calendar view.
- Camera → the Mirror preview.
- Bluetooth → connected-device information.
- Automation → music control.
- Accessibility → volume and brightness display, plus full-screen app detection.
Check the feature after granting access
After setting up Calendar, compare the Nook with an event you can already see in the Mac’s Calendar app. After enabling the Mirror, check its preview before joining a call. For music, play a track in the intended application.
A small check immediately after setup tells you whether the feature has what it needs. It also gives you a concrete result to describe if you contact support.
When moving from an earlier version
The official download page explains that users moving from a previous NotchNook version may be asked again for Calendar, Camera and Automation access. It also notes that Launch at login needs to be enabled again in Settings.
If a permission or feature still needs help, include the exact prompt or behavior, the macOS version and the NotchNook version in your message. Avoid changing unrelated system settings while trying to identify one specific feature.
